Eighth grade students in room 307 studied color theory by making color wheels and value scales. Using these skills, they painted eyes, trying to use value to give the illusion of depth.
Ms. Masterman's 7th grade and Ms' Lauzze's 8th grade classes created masks using scraps of matte board. They learned various techniques of scoring, bending, overlapping, and using tabs to create form. Their masks were inspired by masks of several contemporary artists. They then experimented with photography, using iPads to achieve different effects taking photos of themselves and each other wearing their masks. Below you will find examples of their final photos. Take a look at the PowerPoint below to see examples of assembled masks that served as our inspiration!
8th grade students are refreshing their knowledge of color theory by creating color wheels and value scales using tempera paint. We will use these skills in an upcoming painting project.
