Kindergarten has been learning about self portraits and how to draw details. Details are things to add to your self portrait to make you look more like yourself. Details make your artwork look more special. Details give the viewer more information.
We observed details in each other's appearance and clothing. We also looked at portraits of Frida Kahlo and Henry VI side by side to compare and contrast their differences.
Students began by making the front of their body, then the back on another paper. It proved very challenging to make the back match the front! These two papers will be glued together to turn these self portraits into standing sculptures. Fun!
The final self portrait sculptures!
